Abstract
The ninth issue of A3manos, corresponding to the second half of 2018, offers, with almost all of its articles, the results of research topics linked to recently completed master's and doctoral degrees.
In the review category, two texts focused on behavior in the 21st century on two traditional topics are presented: children's book illustration and mechanical design.
The articles framed in the category of originals address contemporary issues and their direct involvement with the world of design, such as the training of professionals in industrial design, the field of new technologies and the role and impact of visual communication design on issues as sensitive as inclusion, help for children with special characteristics and education for disease prevention.
The short article typology presents an environmental education and protection project generated in New Zealand, with posters as the main communication medium to convey the message of the need to preserve the kauri, a tree native to that country. Precisely one of these posters illustrates the cover of this magazine.
The editorial committee appreciates the collaboration of colleagues from other universities in the country and from educational institutions outside of Cuba. This number has the participation of seven foreign authors, which shows that this publication has been gaining interest among teachers and design professionals outside our borders. Each text received is highly valued, since we are convinced that any research contribution to the discipline of design strengthens its theoretical and conceptual foundations and brings it closer to the social dimension that the 21st century demands.
