Potential of nanoproducts in industrial design projects

Cyntia Molina Gamonal
Antonio José Berazaín Iturralde

Abstract

Today, nanotechnology has invaded numerous areas of contemporary life, including industrial design.

The emergence of nanoproducts, in particular, nanocomposites and nanocoatings, opens new perspectives for design projects, due to their possibilities for improving product performance.

However, the economic limitations to access them and the lack of knowledge about their benefits on the part of the community of designers constitute objective and subjective barriers that restrict their use in the professional activity of national industrial design.

This work aims to contribute to the dissemination of the topic, for which an extensive bibliographic review was carried out that shows the potential of the application of nanoproducts in industrial design projects.
